Question is, is this a "positive print" on both sides applied before the gum? Looking for more opinions, if it were over-inked I would expect a much darker and messier obverse?
Bee See is correct, the 41 often comes perf 12.2, and that is not the 41a ink. The aniline-based vermilion ink often bleeds through the paper of the period.
I agreed with BeeSee. I have one like this and after I put on 800x microscope I come to the reflection it is an 41. I hoped more but I heve to accept the true.
