I've assumed that you are holding only single stamps and not souvenir sheets or booklet panes.
There are few listed printing errors in 2010 through 2017. - extra dots and dash sizes (2387), and - white dot below "R" of "FOR" on position 3 pane stamp (2794i),
However, there are other things to look for as well.
I've provided one example of what to look for other than the normal mis-perforated, non-tagged, missing colours varieties that are easy to spot with the naked eye or UV lamp. I suggest utilizing a catalogue such as Unitrade which lists are the stamps under each of the above examples.
- there can be two versions of the same stamp - one with repeating Canada underprints on the reverse and the other without the underprint (2499-2305),
- variations in serpentine die cutting (2262 to 2264),
- hidden year is later than actual issue year (2406a),
- non-fluorescent yellow ink (2419 to 2423, but not 2422),
- different peak versus valley perfs between 100 roll and 5,000 coil stamp rolls (2504 versus 2505),
- standard versus personalized versions of the same stamps (2566 through 2597),
- self-stick and water activated identical stamps from booklets and souvenir sheets or panes (2478 versus 2479 through 2753),
- two different tagging varieties on each pair in the booklet (2824 versus 2824i),
- withdrawn from sale Dinosaur Provincial Park, Alberta, stamp (2844a and 2485),
- autographed hockey souvenir sheets (2874),
- six different die cuts in a ten stamp booklet (2982), and - identical pairs (2992a-e). |
