A detail from the large painting of a farmers' market was chosen for a stamp in a set featuring works of Estonian art. This one is by the well-known artist Henn-Olavi Roode (1924-1974).

Here's another example of the 'Parisians in the Rain' by Caillebotte, this one on a souvenir sheet showing a portrait of the artist. The painting behind the self-portrait is perhaps of Yerres, where the family had a summer place. Republic of Guinea (or an agency for that country), 2009.

The M. Eisenberg company of Braunschweig made umbrellas for even the worst weather - but it looks as if the lady is getting drenched nevertheless! Two advertising cinderellas, approximately 1920.

Morocco issued a stamp for the 'Day of the Child Victim' in 1984. The children are being carried by a peace dove and protected by an umbrella.

I remember well the little Morton's Salt girl with her umbrella decorating the container - I wonder if she is still there. Elderly sticker for "When it rains, it pours".

The Comores (or an agency for that country) featured the New York impressionist Childe Hassam (1859-1935) in a souvenir sheet. One stamp shows the lady on "5th Avenue on a Rainy Fall Day". 2009

The elegant lady is advertising for the Frank Brothers Silk Company of Munich. She's wearing clothes of about 1925; the Munich skyline in the background.

The opening of the Dialogue Hotel of Libreville, Gabun, in 1974 is the topic of the stamp; the hotel has a beautiful stretch of beach with plenty of parasols at the mouth of the estuary.

The southern Albanian resort beach at Dhermi is backed by low mountains, a few huge boulders lie on the beach, making it a playground for youngsters. stamp of 1982.

The stamp issued by Bangladesch for the World Tourism Conference in 1980 was overprinted for the Philatelic Meeting in 1984.

Contrast was added to the stamp featuring a painting by the Romanian artist Nicolae Vermont (1866-1932); the original is in very delicate colors, 'The Conversation'. 2003
