Thailand issued a set of four stamps for the International Day of the Environment in 2008. One of them shows a group of people desperately trying to survive - the umbrella becomes useless. Maybe they are all trying to schield themselves from holes in the ozone layer?

(By the way, yesterday millions of people were trying to be environmentally serious for one hour, "Earth Hour", switch off the lights!)

No matter what the weather, Erdal will Keep your shoes shiny. The Erdal company has been making shoepolish for generations. The yellow poster stamp is a bit odd - the figure seems to have only one leg. The company logo nowadays is the crowned frog.

New Zealand issued a square sheet of stamps illustrated with many things innovated by the Kiwis. One of them features a sturdy umbrella - it looks like it has a short handle and is possibly made of really tough material. Each stamp motive extends just a bit beyond the border of the picture: "Outside the Square".

Poster stamps/advertising cinderellas frequently feature cute children. One example: for the Kappus soap company of Offenbach. The company still makes fine scented soaps, since 1848.
