Greetings to all! I have enjoyed reading the posts and finally decided to join this community and learning more of postal history.
My interests are primarily related to research of the United States Money Order System from 1864-1900, including the Postal Note era 1883-1894. For my research I am seeking whereabouts of, or information related to postal records, M.O.B. and P.N.B. cancellations and covers, Money Order documents, and Postal Notes (Nineteenth Century only.)
I am also searching for records and documents related to the DPO of Hamilton, Nevada, in particular, any registers of Money Orders issued or Advices Received while Hamilton was designated as a Money Order office.
There are hundreds, if not thousands of foreign postage stamps I received a few years ago, and I don't know what to do with them (they are not my area of interest.) Your suggestions for disposing of these are welcome! Most are mid 20th century. Mix of used and not used.
In the near future I also hope to learn more about an intriguing set of city-issued revenue stamps. It seems there is nothing published in my old SRS catalog because the stamps are city-issued. I will post more about those stamps when time allows.
I am looking forward to both learning from, and contributing where I can to this community!
