What have I got now?

This was sent to me by a charity I do not support. The two dark lines are from the paper clip that fixed it to the charity's appeal. It did not come from a stamp dealer or collector. It does not appear that any of the standard versions are imperf. So what is it?

Oh, the micro USPS is on the second from the top white stripe, near the end.

The stamp was cut out from the sheet or coil roll to keep the paper foil backing. Perforation (roulette) marks are still visible on the sides. It is a normal stamp.

I know it's not a rarity. I just wonder what it is. Is there a machine that makes the cuts? Seems to me to hire e person to do it would be lethal. He or she would die of bordom.

If the charity had to send out hundreds, or thousands of these, they probably used a steel ruler and a sharp craft knife to make fast and effective job of it. The whole process would be pretty boring, but charities do provide jobs such as this for disabled people.

I assume with the backing on, it was intended for your reply or as a guilt gift. Whether the paperclip mark would pass as an uncancelled stamp is another question.

I've seen this kind of thing before with someone who tried regularly to sell his mom's scissor-cut stamps for whatever he could. Nobody wanted them even at a heavy discount. The seller said he didn't know why his mother did this. She also apparently tediously cut the stamps one by one. Was she being paid in postage stamps by some charity?
