Kemeri National Park is located west of the city of J#363;rmala, on the coast of Gulf of Riga. The park is covered mainly by peatland, a type of wetland whose soils consist of organic matter from decaying plants. It also includes several lakes that are lagoons of the ancient Littorina Sea.

Sinfong Mangrove Nature Reserve is part of Sinfong Wetland located in northern Hsinchu County. The 8.5 ha reserve is home to both obovate-leaved mangrove and spotted mangrove species, as well as a wide variety of crab species.

Ivar#269;ko jezero (elevation 645 m) is located near Kotelj in northern Slovenia. It is situated in a forested landscape under the slopes of Uršlja Gora and is the lowest Alpine lake in the region.

Tonlé Sap is located in the northwest of Cambodia, belonging to the Mekong River system. It is the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia and has been designated as a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1997 due to its high level of biodiversity.
