Here is an image of a stamp depicting Macaroni Penguins (Eudyptes chrysolophus), designed and engraved by Georges Bétemps, and issued for use in French Southern and Antarctic Territories on January 1, 1987, Scott No. 132, plus a photo of a group of these crested penguins.

The Saint Helena Plover (Charadrius sanctaehelenae) is locally known as the Wirebird because of its thin legs. Here is an image of a stamp depicting a Wirebird, engraved and printed by Thomas De La Rue & Co., Ltd., and issued for use in St. Helena on August 4, 1953, Scott No. 145, plus a photo of one of this wader species.

It is not a Herring Gull for sure (shape of the bill -pointed-, general jizz); imho it is more a Black-headed Gull (Larus ridibundus) in winter plumage -when it's lacking its blackish hood).

Your First Day Cover has two stamps showing the birds a falcon and a kestrel, from Poland, issued in 1975, part of an 8 stamp set of birds.

In the catalogs, you might only see the other stamps from the set: (pic from ebay)

Great Tit, designed by Yugoslav artist Andreja Milenkovic (1923-2005), printed by photogravure (Courvoisier, S.A.), and issued by Yugoslavia on May 25, 1974 as one of a set of three definitive stamps, Scott No. 1207.
