This 2014 computer-vended stamp is from Ireland's fifth annual series of eight stamps depicting Irish wildlife and marine life.

The Eurasian wren (Troglodytes troglodytes) is a very small bird native to Europe, Asia and Africa. It gets its scientific name from the Greek "cave dweller" from its habit of darting in and out of holes and crevices in search of insects. In Ireland and the U.K., this bird is known simply as a wren.
