I have done a search and cannot find much in the way of discussion on China varieties here. I have quite a few stamps with odd marks that I could do with some help with. From 1898 to modern. I have them sorted by SG, but can convert to Scott. To give you an idea. The stamp below has lots of marks that are shown with arrows. Are these normal for this issue. 1898 SG122. Scott A17 type.

Sloppy printing is my first respond .
My second respond is that there are very very few philatelist who really have any interest in fly-spec China ,you got 10 people trying to sell China specialized for any one buyer of that material .
China is a very funny country to collect, I purchased a huge collection of China Liberated Areas at a small fraction of catalog with lots of rare items at a Michael Rogers Stamp Auction which had groups of Chinese Bandits who where there to buy Mainland items ,YES ,China is HOT and demands high prices . But try and sell stuff that is outside of the 1500 main items that speculators are chasing and your sucking wind . I try to sell China early airmail covers and the prices where just OK ,no aggressive bidding . So that is how CHINA goes .....sorry to be so forth coming, but that how I see it . |

Thanks floortrader.
I have an SG China catalogue. Nothing I have, as far as I know, is high cat value. But some interesting items.
I am in the process of trying to decide what to keep. And what to sell. I do have some nice bits and pieces of china that I will probably keep. I will put the stamps I am probably keeping here.
If nothing else, it maybe a good reference for others. |

Now we come to the overprinted stamps. SG192. Looks to have a retouch of the RNB. |

SG193. Two stamps on a small piece. One right marginal. The other one I presume is from a gutter pair. |

Hi, Interesting series of stamps, evidently used over a long period, and then overprinted twice (black and red)? Is the bottom of the right 2 on SG192 (the 1/2 Cent) normal? Do all SG195's say 3 Dents? I couldn't find another SC127 to compare with but the space between C and E does appear wider. |
