I have two of these stamps. Scott 304/SG 232.

The first stamp has some pronounced marks in the left margin, and to the left of the right frame.
The second stamp has some fainter marks in the left and right margins

Both have a slight kiss print right.

What do you think ?.

The stamps were printed sideways (from right to left) and those spots are ink splashed by the rotogravure press (basically, a rotary press), in the direction of the printing, in my opinion. Perhaps somebody was playing with the speed of the cylinder. On your first stamp, they are on the outside of the design on the left and inside of the design on the right.
Printed by the Institute for Engraving, Paris, France. [They are the printers of stamps for many countries in the 20th Century. Nowadays, I believe they are called 'National Institute of Art Trades' or similar ...]

Thanks aug-stamps. Very well explained.

I really like stamps like these. Very visual, and worth little. So do not get tempted to sell them.
