Is this a known variety? I have the ACSC Postage Dues book, dated 2014. It is the One Penny, 1902 Converted NSW Issue, watermark inverted (normal for this stamp). It is a marginal copy ... maybe someone can help me identify the marginal letters?

What is of interest is that the ACSC mentions White Flaw at top of A of Postage. I think I see more than just a flaw in that area ... mainly across the entire top. The error is underneath the cancel, so it didn't happen during the cancellation or mailing process. Maybe I just have a poorly printed stamp? Any opinions? Thanks in advance.

(Some scans darkened to help bring out the features.)

Parttime,

Stamp is RP 1/2

Sorry about the quality of the scan, not in my collection. For sale on ebay item #173253273111.

Thanks to your question, I have identified these in the stamps I have:

If you look at the pair, the stamp on the left (RP1/1) also has a void in the top right corner.

The 'bible' for postage due flaws is:

'Commonwealth of Australia - The Postage Dues 1902 - 1963'

R P Hyeronimus, Hawthorn Press, 1980.

But the flaw identified here is not in it!

Thanks 64. It sure seems to be a duplicate of the right-hand stamp in the pair that you posted. Perhaps a future version of ACSC will note this variety.

Parttime,

Hyeronimus for sale here: https://www.tsauctions.com/auction/...tion_details

Ross' auctions are good, no buyers premium.

Thanks 64. I logged in and found the item. However, shipping charges to US will be significant. I'll keep checking.

They do come up often enough but more often above $50 than below.
