A very nice series. Canada Post did a similar type of series for the 50th anniversary of World War II. I was disappointed with the general design of the series. For the centenary of World War I, Canada Post did a few stamps, but not a series.

I do like this one from Australia though. Thanks for posting!!

I agree that the series was well designed, it gives an in depth look at what it was like during WWI.

Hi modernstamps

I had ancestors from both sides of the family who went to Gallipoli and to the Somme in France, some who went to the Somme never came back.

It is a every important event every year celebrating all wars Australia had entered, though it was originally intended to celebrate those that had fallen and those that had returned in WWI.

There are other stamps depicting past conflicts and those that have won gallantry medals, and a set of stamps depicting Victoria Cross winners and the Victoria Cross itself, Australia's highest military honour (the civilian version is the George Cross of very similar design).
