Hi all.

I noticed on ebay that some sellers list items with two sets of values: "$-- if forgery, $-- if authentic". Where do you get pricing information for forgeries? Is there a catalog that includes those values alongside those of real stamps?

Thanks!

There is no established price for forgeries ,somebody is just making that up . The early issues usually sell for a few dollars apiece and the later forgeries are only for specialist and have a limited appeal only to experts .

There are some famous forgers who I guess you could call "collectible" in their own right, otherwise folks have forgeries for reference purposes. Stick with stamps long enough JPR and you will have many for free.

svensson - All of the forgeries that I bought accidentally were not free. Though I also got some unexpected education for the price.
