Hello forum. Just a few questions about this stamp if I may.
#1 I see some of the bad perfs and I now its just VG centering at the most. The gum is my question. I don't see any gum on the edges of the perfs like there would be if it was resumed and to me it appears to be the oringinal. It is possible for the stamp to run off center like that when it was being gummed before it was perforated? I know sometimes weird things happens. The gum edge looks like it good straight in what is there its just the gum usually covers the whole stamp. I have seen the gum not cover the salvage before but not seen it like this
Also the perf tips are not all covered with gum.

#2 What would a good price of the stamp to some of you be? I know its kinda of pricey in the catalog at 195.00 and I know that is a collectors price.

Again thank you for your time in looking as it is very much appreciated to me.

If this was in the top row of the pane it's possible that the gum came up a bit short at the top. Having said that, the bottom perfs look filed to me and the others do not look natural with relation to the gum.

Are you using Brookman for pricing this? I ask because Scott is quite a bit more.

It's exactly as revcollector notes and is essentially a big natural gum skip at top. It's still not liked by collectors and should not be counted as MNH but as a hinged stamp (not even LH). There are stamps with even bigger ungummed stripes than this.

With the perfs at bottom (look deepened around the short perf) and left (too clean and holes too large implying a reperf although it gauges right) I would suggest paying as little as possible for this stamp. I feel you could get one with perfs barely cutting and sound for the same or for not much more, if you're willing to be patient.

As always revcollector I thank you and the forum as well for the time and the vaulable advice given.
I wouldn't of even thought about perfs being filed. The perfs did look a little odd like they were reperfed.

Again thank you

Thank you hy-brasil for your time and advice. I have Scotts Catalouge. It's not that the seller wants a lot. The seller wants 50.00 but I was thinking a lot less for a filler.

I would agree 50.00 is a bit too much for this one.

Thanks hy-brasil. When you said it would be considered hinged that dropped it 45.00 with nothing else wrong with, then all the bad perfs the price dropped. I told him 5 no more than 10 as it would just be a temp filler for me. We'll see tomorrow when we meet.

Again thanks to all of you here at the forum for answering not only my questions but others as well. I do read a lot here.

Thanks everyone for your help on this stamp. $5 for a filler that is now covering a hole.
