Usually misplaced colour, or lack of, on a stamp with constitute a specialist flaw variety. What if this occurs outside the frame of the stamp design e.g. on the white margin? This is my New Zealand 1967 SG845 1/2 cents decimal definitive. Note the bottom left. At first I thought it was a number or code but on closer inspection it appears to be a smudge of sorts. Comments most appreciated.

GOL,

This type of thing has to be evidenced in other stamps of the same catalogue number.

It then becomes a "flaw", otherwise it is an "EFO" Errors, Freaks or Oddities.
