What are the rarest varieties of the Flag over Porch series that you have in your collection? Just the coil issues alone have a variety of printers, hard-to-find plate numbers, many different die cuts, and even varying incision die cut styles. There are also sheet stamps and booklets for this issue. Anybody else seriously collect this extensive and complex issue?

I am DEEP into the FoP. I found a roll of the 88898 with 10/11 die cuts at a PO, multiple rolls of the 88898 10/10 at a different PO (including the bullet hole variety), and on a tip from a friend was able to buy a roll of the 89899 from a PO. |

eyeonwall, that's great that you found those at the PO. The only ones I was able to buy when they came out were 99999 10x10 and 11x10. What formats do you collect (sheet, booklet, coil singles or strips, mint or used)? Do you have a large collection? |

Experienced stamps need a home too. I'd rather have an example that is imperfect than no example. I collect for enjoyment, not investment. APS Member #223433 Postmark Collectors Club Member #6333 Meter Stamp Society Member #1409 |

I have a dormant collection of PNC singles and PNCs on cover I still collect. The link to the checklist is amazing!! Now where can we find values for these varieties? or a rarity rating? |

3193zd, PNC3 puts out a listing of the rarest PNCs occasionally in their newsletter. There are 5 FOP issues (referred to as the "Famous Five" on their list:
2915A 66666 10 x 11 (no known mint copies) 2915A 78777 10 x 10 2915A 13231A 10 x 10 VP (Valley Peak) 2915C 66666 12 x 11 (no known mint copies) 2915C 88888 11 x 12 (no known mint copies)
The rarity ratings for other plate numbers differs on where you get the information. The major PNC dealers have a pretty good idea of how difficult it is to find the more rare PNCs. It can be difficult to gauge how much to pay for some PNCs as there isn't a breakdown in the Scott Specialized by die cuts. For example, my 2017 Scott lists 2915A 89878 strip of 5 for $9, but if the die cut is 10 x 10 then a strip of 5 will cost you about $2000.

Walkman - I collect all the FoP formats. I traded one of my 89899 plate strips for a 2920c V11111 with D liner, another very difficult item. |

eyeonwall, good trade...it is a difficult item. I hope to find one of those someday for my collection. No luck so far.
I have three of the "Famous Five" in my collection, all used singles: 2915A 78777 10 x 10, 2915A 13231A 10 x 10 VP, and one of the 6 known copies of 2915C 66666 12 x 11 (my avatar).
I'm still searching for the other two. Perhaps someday... |

eyeonwall, having a no # 12 x 11 is still quite rare...only 5 have been reported as far as I'm aware of. |
