Thanks Rogdcam and Floortrader. I'll sign up and check it out (although looking at the Siegel sale it's way out of my pocketbook range!)

Looks like more of the Dr. Ott collection will be included in the next Kelleher Auction this April ,so all of it was not sold in the March auction .

Now I am starting to think more of the inventory may be floating around Kelleher ,remember they advertised 6 pallets of material in the last March auction ,maybe they got more for the June collections auction much like did with the Stan Richmond material spreading it out over 4 or 5 auctions . Guess we will find out in June .

floortrader, it won't be this April. Kelleher has once again postponed their Flagship Sale 713; it is now scheduled for May 15-18, 2018. This sale was originally set for late March but was postponed in early March to mid-April. Then yesterday (Monday, April 9), only 8 days before the sale was to open, they put the new sale dates in May up on their website. I guess those Dr. Jack Ott collection pallets are taking a while longer to unpack than they thought - lol!

Thanks for that update RHETT.

Still having a hard time wrapping my head around the vast inventory Jack Ott had .I seen huge accumlations around Chicago for years but it was all on-paper ,C-T-O material and on paper Kiloware stuff .Nothing you would want to fill your house or garage with . But this was a Medical Doctor who was retired and his first love must of been buying out dealers and writing up 102 dealer cards .I wish I knew the guy .

Well, somebody picked up one of the lots of Dr. Ott's old inventory.

This ebay lot is a group of stamps individually on dealer cards, each with Jack Ott's name.

A whole bunch of stuff on ebay comes from Kelleher, Rasdale et al. NYStamps has driven the prices for large carton lots up into ridiculous territory at places like Rasdale. I am waiting for a lot that sold at Kellehers last auction to show up on ebay. 30 Minkus Master Globals. Went for around $7500. If Noble Spirit listed it on ebay the price would be $50,000 or more. Or it will be broken up into a million pieces. I truly do not understand the love of ebay. It is almost all resellers. Overpriced big time.

Maybe some do not want entire collections but would rather buy broken up collections for a price less than many dealers. They are middlemen in the food chain. I pay more because I do not want to unload a lot of unneeded material.

I agree a lot of stuff from the Dr. Ott inventory will end up with the ebay sellers . The wild card at these large auctions will always be the private collector who is buying entertaiment and looking to build their own collection .

Lot 205. Sold for $1400 plus 20%. 5000 102 cards broken down the ebay way equals a very tidy profit.
