Question: I'm thinking of selling some (Canada) self adhesives on ebay as singles or perhaps pairs. Personally, I think they need to be sold still affixed; i.e. not removed from the backing. But I need to cut them off the booklet page. That of course will not be totally elegant.

Will collectors bid on self adhesive singles still affixed, with them being cut inelegantly from the booklet page?

You need to try to use a knife to get clean cuts between stamps to make them attractive. You have to fold them well to weaken liner and then slit with knife.

If you want to do that, I would suggest an X-acto knife with a new blade. And do the cutting an a pane of glass,

Something I've been doing with the self-adhesives, or "pressure sensitive adhesive" as the USPS likes to call it, is to pick up the scrap from the post office and cut borders around them of the backing. For those issues I can't get scrap, I'll use the majority of the stamps on the pane for postage and keep one or two to trim around. Here's a couple of examples:

I like the look of these and it keeps the stamp die cuts, which sometimes extend beyond the edge of the perforated backing paper protected.

Just my idea on the matter...

I do the same as Stampman2002 as it also leaves the saved stamp in its exact place on the backing paper.

The Challenge for many Canada self sticks is different - as the "panes" are tight and square or rectangular cut outs are often not possible. The noted shows one of the booklets I'm trying to work with. See the problem?

I do not collect self adhesive stamps as I have doubts about how long the adhesive will last and what happens if the stamps in a album start to come off the backing.

That said I do collect QE2 booklets. If I was interested in the very common booklet in the link above I would only buy it complete cerainly not as singles from it.
