The following notes are from my second document.

Numeral 20 (3) It is unlikely there were two 2R devices issued to the office. The illustration shows 24 rays.

Numeral 20 (5) Not listed in the first edition. Most probably a worn version of (4)

Numeral 34 (3) Does not exist. Illustration is numeral 134 of Manilla.

Numeral 64 (3) and (4) I believe these are the wrong way around. I have both devices, both on single lined numeral watermark DLR stamps. When the 3R16 type was first introduced the rays were dots instead of dashes. The rarer device has dots for the rays.

Numeral 76 (3) As is the case with numeral 27 (3), I think this device is a cleaned (2) device. Both examples seen of the (3) device are on early De La Rue stamps.

Numeral 90 Types (2) and (3) appear to be the same device. Types (4) and (5) are both 3R15 devices. I have both on Wmk SG36 stamps and (4) is a full strike. There are differences in the shape of the numerals, but the relative positions of the rays to the numerals are identical in both devices, as is the space between the 9 and the 0. I would suggest the device has been recut or repaired.

Numeral 212 (2) Does this exist? If so, it must have appeared after the 3R16

Numeral 235 Transpose (3) and (4) as the 3R12 must have appeared after the 3R16

Numeral 330 The 3R16 type is most puzzling, given that the 2R35 type is known used on the record reign issues. Could it have been issued and only used on South Australia stamps or was the device perhaps lost?

Numeral 356 Numeral known on a 2d DLR, Wmk SG36. The numerals and the spacing between them are the same as the illustration in the book. Surely the difference in size probably comes down to wear?

Numeral 393 The rays on the (2) device are dots rather than rays and there are only 3 dots in each ray. On this basis (1) doesn't exist and (2) is an anomaly as it does not have the usual 4 dots in each ray and would be a 2R16 device.

Numeral 430 Types (2) and (3) appear to be the same device.

Numeral 444 (2) Device probably supplied mid 1870.

Numeral 454 Types 2 and 3 appear to be the same device. The 5 is the same shape and the thickness of the bars and the spaces between them seem to confirm.

Numeral 519 Is the second 3R16 listing an error?

Numeral 525 Types (1) and (2) appear to be the same device.

Numeral 534 Does the 3R16 type exist?

Numeral 550 Device is known on a 2d RR but Toorale closed 13/3/1876.

Numeral 568 There is no 3R20 device. The shape and size of the numerals are consistent with numerals either side in the range.

Numeral 596 Assuming the 3R12 type exists, it would have to have been issued after the 3R21 type.

Numeral 599 Types (1) and (2) appear to be the same device.

Numeral 605 (1) Illustration is numeral 606 of Gulargambone.

Numeral 626 (2) Illustration is an inverted numeral 939 of Junee.

Numeral 655 Types (1) and (2) appear to be the same device.

Numeral 684 Types (2) and (3) appear to be the same device. Was the 4D used to create the 4D2?

Numeral 762 Illustration appears to be numeral 752 of Lithgow. Note the shape of the sixes in the 760s range.

Numeral 826 (1) Illustration is numeral 825 of Burraga.

Numeral 832 Re-opening note relates to numeral 827 of Greenwich Park.

Numeral 899 Types (1) and (2) appear to be the same device.

Numeral 914 Types (2) and (3) appear to be the same device.

Numeral 917 Types (2) and (3) appear to be the same device.

Numeral 936 Does type (2) exist?

Numeral 954 Illustration is on an 1897 2d, but office closed in 1879.

Numeral 968 If numeral 975 is Mount Hunter Creek, then numeral 968 cannot be.

Numeral 975 Device known on 2d emu but PO closed in 1881. Might the device have been used at Mount Hunter? See numeral 1408.

Numeral 998 Post office confirmed as Gilgai.

Numeral 1058 Illustration is on an 1897 1d, but office closed in 1887. Could it have been used at West Temora?

Numeral 1066 Does type (1) exist?

Numeral 1105 Does type (1) exist? Illustration is on an 1897 1d but office closed on 15/1/1884 and Widemere opened the following day. Could it have been used at Widemere?

Numeral 1134 Types (2) and (3) appear to be the same device.

Numeral 1183 Image is type (1)

Numeral 1259 Is type (1) numeral 1253 of Glenbower?

Numeral 1320 Does type (1) exist?

Numeral 1335 Image is type (2)

Numeral 1500 Is type (2) numeral 1560 of Pymble?

Numeral 1938 Could this numeral have been allocated to another office?

Finding numeral cancellations on postage due stamps is quite a challenge.

Freeman illustrates 8 numerals in the book: 480, 515, 624, 775, 811, 1128, 1133 and 1584. These are all on NSW postage due stamps.

I have found 153, 203, 730, 786, 1615 and 1874, all pictured below.

All but the 1874 are also on New South Wales postage dues.

The 1874 (Hazelbrook) is on a Commonwealth postage due. This is the only instance of its kind that I'm aware of.
