In a competitive situation where many are selling the same thing, it can sometimes come down more to liking the seller than to the item that they selling even if the item is being discounted compared to that of others. Many people don't always shop around because they don't have the time to do it or time is money for them.

Absolutely right! I buy most of my stamps from a fellow I've never met, who operates an old-fashioned stamp store on Saturdays, who I trust implicitly, who will always work with me on price, who doesn't charge me postage, who will gladly spread out payments, who often sends me items before I've even paid for them (i.e., he trusts me too), and allows returns for any reason.

Many of the items I've purchased from him I probably could have bought a bit cheaper on ebay... who cares!

Dennis

I'm with you Dennis. We had an approvals dealer here in Australia named Mike Croak who, until his untimely passing, did all the same things for me, apart from having a store. He was the best dealer I've ever had the pleasure to do business with and like your case, I never met him but I did have many enjoyable telephone conversations with him.

I have bought several items from the dealer in my original post and have never been disappointed. Although I would never pay 10X CV for anything. Actually she is one of the best dealers in GB, in my opinion. Cheers! Wolf-==-
