The image is very small, but I assume you mean it's dated 11 June 1963, the day he burned himself to death. The cover could easily have been canceled on the day and the cachet printed/added after.

Someone posted a picture, some time ago, of a "Johnson inauguration" cover. I just don't get the attraction - the events are historical, but the blank covers with later additions seem manufactured and meaningless. Each to his/her own, of course!

Otherwise blank covers of many eras get artwork added, often for fraudulent purposes. Justinokay has reason to be suspicious.

Here though, I think the cover is part of someone's political statement at the time. Who that might be would be the interesting part of the story.
