Obtaining 5263A - 2018 Flag Booklet Printed By Banknote

Hello all,

Any advice on how to buy the 2018 Flag stamp booklet printed by Banknote?

Linn's January 31, 2018 article "USPS item numbers for Flag varieties available" (https://www.linns.com/news/us-stamp...ailable.html) indicates that the Banknote-printed double sided pane is assigned the USPS item number 678202, whereas the Ashton Potter-printed double sided pane is assigned the USPS item number 678204. But the USPS Postal Store only sells the Ashton Potter booklet (item number 678204) not the Banknote booklet.

For your reference the following numbers were assigned to the 2018 Flag stamp:

5260 (50c) Flag coil stamp, serpentine die cut 9½ vert., microprinted "USPS" at left of flag fold on fourth white stripe (Ashton-Potter printing)
5261 (50c) Flag coil stamp, serpentine die cut 11 vert., microprinted "USPS" at right of flag fold on fifth white stripe (Banknote printing)
5262 (50c) Flag booklet stamp, serpentine die cut 11¼x10¾ on 2 or 3 sides, microprinted "USPS" at left of flag fold on fourth red stripe (Ashton-Potter printing)

Bobeid, what postal store are you using? If you order from the cave in Kansas City they should have the correct booklet.
Best thing to do is call their toll fee number : 1-800-782-6724.

Peter, I am using the website (https://store.usps.com/store/home). It allows searching by item number and only the Ashton Potter item number yields a result. Thank you for the suggestion, I will try ordering by the item number over the phone.

Bobeid, good idea. I try to order certain coil stamps and frequently have to talk to someone to get something correct

bobeid: usps.com does not have all of the legitimate item numbers available. To obtain an item not recognized on usps.com, do as Peter suggests.
