I guess this is my weekend for philatelic rants. Been working on lots received in the mail this week and with 11 lots opened and reviewed, I have 2 lots I can add to my collection. Lots came from ebay and a major auction house. I plan to write up my experiences with stamps bought "sight unseen" that arrive with problems. I'll include images where possible and name names of the sellers. If nothing else, I'm putting my money where my mouth is.

I bought a lot with this description on ebay:

Iran 1964 11th definitive set MNH

Set arrived complete, however the stamps did NOT match the images in the ad. Additionally, here are photos of the face and gum of the high value in the set. Speaks for itself- large area of mount glaze and not the same stamp in the ad. If the seller looked at the gum to see it was MNH, he/she didn't see the disturbed gum? C'mon.

Image of high value in the ebay lot:

Here is an image of the high value in hand- compare centering and perfs to the lot image above:

Here is an image of the gum side of the high value:

Send it back - it's your right to do so. I also didn't know I guess it's okay to sell Iranian stamps on ebay as along as you don't ship internationally.

Those aren't even the same stamp number — different denominations.

My mistake- here is the image of the 50D in the ad. Not the same as the copy sent.

Let them know about the problems.
You did not get what you paid for,
it was not as described.
