This is typical for NY covers of the era. Stamps were cancelled with a double oval marking that didn't have date information (your cover is missing a stamp); there was typically a boxed marking with the station name and the date (frequently also struck on the back across the flap); an adhesive registry label (mostly peeled away on yours) then a registry division oval on the back to show processing through the registration section of the main PO (outgoing international mail also frequently has a "foreign" branch oval). Yours also has two strikes of the sender's return address/corner card as a handstamp.
