Hello stampers, can someone identify this, please. I have looked through the SG German catalogue and Michel Specialized catalogue, no luck, unless I've missed it!!!
Latvia Sc. 1N10. Libau being the German name for the Latvian city of Liepaja. I have an old listing that gives CV as $325 mint or used. It also is one of the best known counterfeit stamps.
There are Libau locals from the Postgebiet Ober Ost during WWI. They're in the German-language version of the Michel Spezial Band I under "Deutsche Besetzungsausgaben 1914/18 (Postgebiet Oberbefehlshaber Ost)".
These are heavily forged, and it's difficult to tell on your copy without a much better scan. If genuine, CV is €400-€450.
