The seller says this is a fake, right in the title; that's fair. But..why ask nearly four figures for it?

It is indeed a nice stamp. Sadly someone tried to make it into something even better. This is a reputable seller from whom I've bought early GB in the past. Comments?

I looked in his sold listings and most of the stamps sold were the cheaper items slashed.
He takes offers; so £150 ok?

Wow! That is expensive.
Maybe he considers it a rare one of a kind fake.

My point was, if it is a fake, it's the same as a damaged stamp. If it's a fake it isn't worth this price. Looks too good anyway.

Seller says that only the "10" in the Maltese Cross is fake.

"With faked 10 in Maltese Cross" may refer to only the "10" being faked. But it sounds more to me like he means the entire cross with the number is fake. In any case, maybe you should ask the seller what his logic is in arriving at that price? Most people would be inclined to give you some rationale if you asked nicely. A seller is free to ask any price, of course, but getting that price is a different story, so I'm at a loss as to why he'd ask so much for this.
