This is an interesting item that I recently acquired. van Dam FLS2 - CARIS CABL 2 : Engraved - Unused - Lock Label for Excise Warehouse or Distillery. van Dam's C/V is $150. Lithographed copy is FLS3 and C/V is $600.

Consisting of a stub and two labels, the outside label was to be detached and the stub and both labels would record information. When detached, the outer label would be secured over the keyhole of the lock that was detailed. If someone tried tampering with the lock, the "seal" would be broken. When the facility was re-opened, the seal would be removed and reattached with glue to the corresponding stub and seal for filing.

The actual size of the stub and two labels as a whole is 22cm x 3.8cm
