I picked this up for only a couple dollars due to the oddness and my affinity for vending and affixing coils.

The perf 12 on the left side match perf 12-67 on the specialty guage. The box perfs on the right are very close to Schermack III perfs (off maybe <1mm when matched again to my guage). Round perfs on top do not match the spacing of Brinkerhoff or Mailometer. And although it's hard to see, the bottom is perforated with sewing machine like slits (think Wilson's or Kansas City roulette). So, what do you all think:

1. A Frankenstein from some collector's basement hack job?
2. A fantasy piece created for a collector ( e.g. by a dealer or company)
3. Or an actual experimental piece from a vending or affixing company?
4. Something else entirely

The stamp is a "sampler" made by Richard Kiusalas or possibly a knockoff, because the Schermack perfs are malformed. It is an extremely rare and highly valuable stamp to the right person. I would pay $10 for it plus reasonable shipping. It would go nicely with the avatar stamp which I received directly from Kiusalas sometime between 1967 and 1969.

Kiusalas had a Shermack style perforating machine.

Clark, thanks for the info! I got it for all of $5, so I'm happy with it.

Fortunately those Schermacks are not very good, and are easy to prove as fakes.

No one suspected any of the perfs were legit. It's a novelty piece with possibly an interesting back story.
