Hello,

This is my very first post on the Stamp Community Forum.

Are there any available studies on Double Transfers of the 1893 2¢ Columbus Issue? I have a couple of spectacular ones and would like to know what else has been found.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

you can always look into the Encyclopedia of plate varieties by L. French, or start here:

Hello stamperix,

Wow! I didn't expect a reply to come THAT quickly!!!

I would love to be able to use Loren French's superb Encyclopedia (I have an autographed copy), but it doesn't start until Scott 246.

But thanks very much!!!

I know there is a pamphlet specifically on the 2 cent Columbian DT's, but I do not recall the exact title. There are some major double transfers out there.

French's book will not help as it starts with the Bureau printed stamps (Scott 246). There was a pamphlet by Lauzon entitled The United States Columbian Issue 1893, published in 1942. The 2c section is listed under "Plate Varieties".

There is also a work published just on the 2c Stamp by Breaky. Not 100% sure on author's name. An English seller on E-Bay has listed a copy for sale at 60 pounds plus shipping. It might be available from the APRL.
