Good Morning,

I have a Queensland 1p Orange stamp. The watermark crown and Q are not touching and the perf is 13... so I'm wondering what catalog number this is... probably been staring at book too long...It doesn't look orange-red to me at all... Believe to be 1890-94 and the stamp has "white line down front of throat".

Online perf:
Top:12.91 Right:12.82 Bottom:12.77 Left:12.86

Thanks for looking

I'm thinking it is what you might have expected, SG 210. It's not SG colour guide orange-red, but recall that SG notes that traditional color names have been kept, so that might apply here. There is also a range of colors (not only just shades) for earlier 187, called vermilion-red only by SG but not always something like that. There are shades not listed by SG in this era going back to 1879, so I would expect shades to be present here also.

scans from various sources, so unreliable that way but does show the color range possible in my opinion.

The stamp (and the cancel) look a little faded, which always makes it trickier to correctly identify shade.
