I have a block of 4 stamps composed of 2 vertical pairs of stamps. The value of the stamps is coming from the fact that the pairs are separated by imperforated row. And so, the block of 4 stamps is a block of 2 vertical pairs. I would like to have your opinion about the best way to sell the pairs: - either to sell the block like it is on the picture - or dividing the block in 2 vertical pairs and selling them separately. This question is also valid for other stamps: Is it better to divide blocks or to sell them as a whole item? Thank you

What's the value of a vertical pair imperf between? Unless the value is negligible, surely what you have would be worth more than double that of a pair?
If a stamp has some good value, then blocks will usually be worth more than the equal number of single stamps. If the stamp is common there will be no premium for blocks or even sheets as a rule. |

It is much scarcer to have a block than a pair. Some blocks of some errors are unique because other copies have been broken down into pairs or singles. |

1. I think you will achieve the same price or even a bit more as a block of 4 for this vs. two pairs. 2. The vertical perfs wander a lot between the top stamps. This makes breaking it into pairs very problematic -- you'll get blind or blunt perfs on the left pair or worse, get some damage in separation. That's enough to make me leave it as is. Besides, it shows the wandering perforation quite well. |

Leave it as a block. I agree with Hy-brasil, the wandering perfs make the block a much better item visually than two pairs. |

My 2014 Scott Classic lists these at $325 for a vertical pair imperf between (cat no. 124b) which is nothing to sneeze at. I'd leave it as a block. |

Just my two cents, but keep it intact--a demonstration of the wandering perfs is just the sort of thing some exhibitors are looking for. Otherwise an imperf pair is somewhat "ordinary" even if it is on the rare side. |

"Wandering" perfs,or forged perfs? A rare item worth 650$ or a forged block with no actual value? I agree with Dan1953 But of course it's better not to divide it. Regards.

The OP's photo is of poor quality.Forgeries of Coiling Dragon C.I.P.stamps exist ,especialy imperf between vertical or horiz. pairs. A clear photo of the front & back could help. The color aspect of this block looks doubtful at least from the photo... Below: Lot 2090, Interasia sale 23 Sc. 124 1905 for the color. Below:Michael rogers Auction 14,lot 319,Scott 124a Some debats on forgeries: https://www.stampboards.com/viewtop...f=21&t=79019 |

The middle perfs, besides wandering, are not spaced anywhere near uniformly. This block does not pass the smell test. |
