Is there any market for philatelic books ? I have lots of old books that are allegedly valuable .... any advice on how I could sell them?

Hi Fred, Hard to answer unless we know the books. Can you post some images and/or additional info? Don |

Good Philatelic Books are a strange group. If you want to buy a particular book it's hard to find and expensive. If you are trying to sell them the buyers are scarce. You can sell philatelic books on ebay, you have to research prices on the Internet and price your book a few dollars lower and wait for the right customer, but Don is correct we need to know more about what you have before we can give you more accurate advice. |

You can get an idea of retail prices from the lists/inventories of:
Leonard Hartmann - www.pbbooks.com Phil Bansner - www.philbansner.com
Both would probably make you an offer for better items or the whole library. |

Sounds interesting! Are the Japanese books JSCA or Sakura catalogs? (they are widely available) Otherwise, we need pictures more than ever! |

Wait until you have 50 posts and then offer them here on the forum. I just bought the three volume Brookman set in February so I think you could find buyers here.

I see on the shelf the four volume set of Max Johl's United States Postage Stamps of the United States. That's a good set, and, as previously mentioned, the three volume Brookman set is a good set.
The first book you pictured is a classic book on fancy cancels and something collectors would be interested in.
I'm a U.S. specialist, so I cannot comment on the Japanese books, but given the quality of the U.S. books, I would imagine the Japanese books would be desired by collectors who specialize in that country. |

The Solichi Ichida books should attract a nice price. The Dragon Stamps was published in 1959 and the Cherry Blossom Issues in 1965. I can't imagine they're common but is there any demand? Also, are they in English? |
