Odd Text Or Mark On The Back Of Stamp

Hi everyone,

I have a stamp collection that I kept in the bookshelf for a long time. The past days as I was cleaning some old books I found a stamp with a text or some kind of trademark on the back of it. I can only identify the "&" font in the middle but the rest of text is spelled backwards.which is weird to me cause all of my stamps doesnt have this kind of text.

Could you help me identify the text? Or maybe you have experienced with this kind of stamp style. Thank you for your attention. I'm looking forward to your reply.

Welcome to Stamp Community Forum. The text is the top layer of paper from the envelope or postcard. Since you are looking at the reverse printing, simply hold it up to a mirror to get the correct wording.

I already did that using google snapseed the other day. But still there is no info that I can find related on google. Plus the ampersand is now backwards while the rest is normal.maybe its a name of the company that sell stamps, books and stationary kinda thing. I dont know. Just curious.

Doesn't it just say "classic"?

This is the business logo for W N Sharpe, formerly of Bradford West Yorkshire, who were Greetings Cards manufacturers. This logo was located where the stamps were placed on the envelopes sold with each card. Sold enough of them in the past. 'Sharpes CLASSIC'
