These are newspaper stamps from Austria, Scott P2 (1851) and P4 (1856). If genuine, their catalog value is considerable. I have been able to find photos of reprints, that look nothing like these, but not the genuine stamps. Are they real, are they forgeries? Scott Classic talks about reprints, but makes no mention of forgeries. What do you think?

Forgeries ,wrong color and poor quality of design .But a lot better than some of my forgeries of the facial features . There are about 8 different forgery types .

Thanks, floortrader. Poor quality of design? If that's an original, the design is nothing to write home about. But kidding, aside, a big giveaway from what I've now seen are those 2 dots above the A. Saw it mentioned of a forgery when I went to checking listings at the APS Stamp Store, and now see them on yours.

Would love get an opinion on my copy of P4 as well. I'm pretty sure this is not a genuine original print, but hoping it is one of the official reprints. Also, it would be nice to get an opinion (guesstimate) on the value for insurance purposes (cataloging and appraising my entire collection). Since, 99% cannot afford a copy of a genuine stamp, next best thing would be an official reprint, if it is a reprint, I would thing it has some value.

Found this publication, but the pictures are quite small to make a good judgement.
