I recently bought some revenue stamps on album pages and saw that the stamps were very nicely mounted. I was amazed to find that the mounts were not wetted but were fastened to the page with hinges. Seems odd to me.

I had a collection where the show-guard mounts were attached with scotch tape. I peeled the tape off and reused all the mounts.

This method makes sense, if the hinges secure the item to the page. Otherwise, there is a risk of loss, or damage.

i too have seen this method before. it avoids any chance of moisture ruining mognh items. this also allows reuse of the mount and album.

Yep. You can easily reuse mounts this way. You can even strip off used mounts from collections you acquire, and keep a big box of 'em around to hinge on pages as needed. One of the most cost-effective ways to mount, actually.

That is how I did it in Big Blue for the occasional MNH. Dennison hinges to boot.
