I can't imagine what the reserve price is. Probably something as far out as the collection itself

If the reserve is based on man hours it's going to be very expensive. Even at minimum wage...

Just today I saw a #65 collection, perhaps 1,000 used stamps. But that was really a cancel collection so it makes philatelic sense. This does not. This is more like an addiction then a collection for pleasure.

It is highly unlikely that these are hinged with quality vintage hinges and instead is hinged with 'must be soaked' modern hinges. I guess a person could search for any interesting varieties, soak just those pages, and disposition* the rest.
Don

*The term 'disposition' left intentionally vague.

Since the binder doesn't look like it's worth $89, this is becoming more of a riddle to me. Who would put this "collection" together, and who are the people trying to outbid each other?

I would have bid up to $30 or so including shipping just to look through it in person and see the varieties.

As someone noted earlier, this is part 8 so maybe I will have 7 more chances.

Wonder what the shipping will be to Norway. Per the global shipping program, the quote is about $31.00. What would the cheapest shipping be approx.?

It's amazing, or maybe crazy, to think there is more than 1 collector for every one of those stamps!

Maybe the original owner built this collection for that most ambitious of undertakings: plating!

Yeah, we all think that plating has become nigh impossible, but surely there can be one cockeyed optimist left?

Cheers,
