That's an F'in lot of stamps. "Save them all, the catalog says each is worth 25 cents!"

With 20,000 stamps, at 25c ea, then catalog value is $5,000.

15% of that - a common opening bid for lots - is $750 ...

Scott value - even a percent of Scott value - could be misleading to this discussion - especially to beginners reading this thread.
The lot sold for the reserve of $75 + shipping.
The next highest bids were $37 and $29.

I agree.

A realization of a whopping 1.5% of Scott Catalog for this lot ought to tell people that catalogs are just guidelines. Very broad guidelines. Especially for very common stamps, that are not in demand - at least not in this quantity.
