Early in the 20th century Germany issued sets of official stamps for state agencies in Prussia (1903, shown on left) and Baden (1905, shown on right). Prussian 2 pf stamp (Mi #1) is from a set of 8 values, and Baden 2pf stamp (Mi #9) is from a set set of 6.  |

The design of this December 1, 1955, 1pf "make-up postage" stamp (Mi #226x) of West Germany was used until the mid-1960's. The original stamp is watermarked "DBP with flower". In 1958 and 1960 it was re-issued with "BP and zig-zag lines" watermark in two different directions. Finally, in 1963 it was again re-issued with the original watermark, but on fluorescent paper.  |
