Here is the Dominican Republic's December 28, 2011 60 pesos stamp commemorating the 500th anniversary of the Advent Sermon. From wikipedia, "On December 21, 1511, the fourth Sunday of Advent, Antonio de Montesinos (1475-1540) preached an impassioned sermon. He criticized the practices of the Spanish colonial 'encomienda' system, and decrying the abuse of the Taino Indian people in Hispaniola."  |

On May 9, 1945, one day after Germany's unconditional surrender ended WWII in Europe, Switzerland issued a 13-stamp "Peace in Europe set. The lowest five values of this set (5-40 centimes) share a common, non-pictorial design with the frame being gray, and the central panel a different color for each value. The frames of these stamps contain the Latin phrase, "Pax Hominibus Bonae Voluntatis", meaning "Peace, Good Will." Here is the 40 centimes value (Sc #297) from the set.  |

This bilingual, English and Afrikaans se-tenant pair of 4c Energy Saving stamps (Sc #518a) was issued by the Republic of South Africa on April 2, 1979. As international sanctions against the country grew, due to its apartheid policies, shortages of important products became widespread.  |

On August 20, 1999 Lithuania issued a souvenir sheet commemorating the centenary of the theatrical performance of "America in the Bath". The souvenir sheet contains two, 4 litas stamps, one of which, Scott #637b, shows text of a playbill for "America in the Bath".  |
