Great work, Don! What paper, in your opinion, should be used for printing?

Thank you, I hope folks find the pages useful.

And thank you for the paper question, this was something I thought long and hard about before I started to publish/promote 'self-printing' album pages.

Some collector can be..umm...'thrifty'. We are, after all, collecting stamps and covers; we are not collecting supplies! But buying cheap paper is not wise and simply buying the 'acid-free' paper sold at your local office supply store is false ecomony. To learn more about choosing the correct paper (including specifications) I have posted this article

Don,

I just reviewed your articles on choosing appropriate acid-free paper for album pages. The content is great, but the presentation leaves something to be desired.

Would you consider publishing this, and your other "articles", using a darker font, perhaps one with the same darkness as seen on the SCF board. I find that pale gray text used here is a little difficult to read with my "old guy" eyes.

Mike

Don,

I am sure the paper I use does not meet the requirements but you may want to list some papers they do meet the requirements.

Hi Mike,
Font color changed to black on all 2114 pages. You may need to force your browser to refresh to fetch the revised CSS.
Thanks,
Don

Edit: I originally used dark gray font color because studies showed it was considered optimal for readability. But no harm in giving pure black a try. Unless I get a lot of pushback, I'll stick with black.

Don,

As an aside, when I was making custom pages for Mystics pages, I found my pages had blacker blacks so when I had a lot of text it stood out. I found I could control this in the printing process if I wanted.
