Who says you'll have to buy the "entire" T-blanko package" ;)

You can buy just the "plastic foils" and stick them to any page you want. Or attach them into sheet protector (providing precisely the functionality you are seeking).

For more info see https://www.lindner-original.de/phi...lienhuellen/

As for yellowing... Are you sure its the same product? IMHO Linder products are usually of better quality than Leuchtturm/Lighthouse.

OK, so foils could be stuck to our self-printed pages.... but think would need to print on some substantial weight thick paper or thin card if they are having a thing like that stuck to them! They will fit A4 sheets at least... then stick the whole lot in a page protector. Hmmm... still prefer my idea, but nobody makes it!

I thought it was those that were yellow, but maybe mis-remembering, it was some old pre-printed country pages I had using the same system with clear foils attached to card pages anyway.

If you're constructing DIY T-Bar pages, you don't need a page protector. The foil is the protector.

But the foil doesn't have punch holes, I get what you are saying though (you can punch the side of whatever you're sticking the foils on to).

"So on your pages you have a printed sheet on the left and a stockpage on the right, and when you turn over to the next page presumably it's the opposite?"

Correct, turn the page and then stamps in Vario on left, printed album page on right inside page protector.

I think in terms of cost it might be the cheapest option (though prices in UK will be different in the UK vs USA), in that you can still use 2-sided Varios (packs of 25 off ebay usually under US$20), thus doubling the number of stamps per vario sheet you use, while minimizing the thickness of the information pages to just a basic page protector with paper inserts (of whatever size you wish -I am in USA so it's 8.5x11) In a Vario-F binder I can fit approx 40 double sided Vario pages (80 total facings) and 40 page protectors with printed page inside quite comfortably. Only issue I have is the page protector does protrude beyond the binder cover when closed so the very edge of the spine will stick out of the slipcase but that actually helps make taking the binder out of the slipcase a bit easier (they are in a deep enough cupboard so they don't overhang into the air).

DJCMHOH, yes crazy price for a little piece of clear plastic! My sought after solution needs to be cheap, flexible and aesthetically pleasing!

Chris2015, yes, I'm almost... ALMOST ... tempted to copy that solution but feel it would be a little bit like admitting defeat and ultimately less satisfying. And all because supplies manufacturers after all this time have not produced what to me seems to obvious solution. I'm going to enquire about getting some sheets made, anyone fancy a crowdfunder?

Each to his or her own, but I found the approach shown on Jim's site pretty unappealing, partly because I don't like to display any stamps on stock-pages, but also because mounts and black stock-pages look far less attractive than hinged stamps if the stamps are used.

Geoff,
I agree with you, mostly because of the unnecessary bulk to adds. Just thought I'd throw it out there as an option.

If it was just a piece of plastic... But there's

- research : what kind of plastics to use, what kind of attachment to use,... All collectors know the meaning of archival quality.

- legal/patenting fees... Have you ever wondered why other publisher do not provide anything similar. I'm pretty sure Lindner has got a patent on transparent, attachable foils for stamp albums. And then there are other legal issues (part of doing any business).

- customer service: we all know how to complain if the plastic turns yellow, strips falls off the page, or storage damages our precious permanently, LOL

- marketing... Lindner provides brochures and other marketing material in number of languages. And they do fairs/shows. And... Though this is just a single product, likely they've spent a small fortune on bringing collectors aware of its existence.

- taxes... There's VAT (19-27%) included in the price

- distribution/storage/logistics... I.e. how to make sure you get the pages you ordered are delivered to you ASAP

etc.etc.

Technically speaking it may not cost much to manufacturer a page like this (likely few cents a piece), but it becomes a "sell-able product" only when you combine all the above and much more. And by that time the 'total cost' of it all has gone way up.
