I love this stamp from 1919. This Franklin stamp is an amazing color and I've been fortunate to acquire a few covers. They are uncommon as this stamp was meant to cover the first class letter rate of three cents (wartime rate) plus registry fee of ten cents. In the summer of 1919 the letter rate reverted back to two cents, making this stamp impractical for its intended use. The three cent letter rate would not take place until 1932.
