Can anyone identify this "stamp" with Prince Cuza's head (I presume) ?

Hi vayolene,

This is a design that was proposed for new stamps in 1865.

The name of the engraver Dulos is in the bottom right of the oval frame.

There's a lot of information about these on the romaniastamps.com web site.

This gives the engraver's name as "J. Dulos" but I wonder if this is the same (P.E.S.) Dulos who around the same time engraved the so-called "Duloz" stamps for Turkey. Stamps of both these designs were printed in Paris.

Nigel,
correct, "Duloz" is in fact an error, I think I recall ONEPS deciding hence forward, we are to refer to them as "DULOS" issues.
Individual preference not withstanding.
