What do you mean by stands in a different direction? Her head is pointing in the same direction as all of the other stamps. You should note the difference in the lines in the globe ... that indicates a different stamp, though not much difference in value.

There are three different version of that design. The light colored one you posted was initially used in 1901. It came on several different types of paper, had varying shades of carmine with a couple of different watermarks, and was perforated various ways.
The design was altered slightly in 1908.
The final design added Dominion across the top. This appeared in 1909.
All three designs show the same central image facing the same direction.
This information comes from the Stanley Gibbons catalogue. My copy is dated 2013.
I think both stamps come from the 1901 design. There were different shades of carmine used, so it is possible to have a light carmine and a deep carmine shade. It is hard to tell for sure from the scan, but I do have some of the very light carmine shades you posted from that time period.
