British Guiana 1889 2c Wmk Crown CA - Purple & Orange And Also One In Purple & Brown?

Good Morning,

I have a 1889 2c British Guiana stamp with watermark crown and CA.

One stamp is the correct color of purple and orange.

The other is more like purple and brown.

I know that stamps can oxidize and become changelings - so before I put this stamp in peroxide - please let me know if this is a rare possibility.

Orange is always suspect when it comes to oxydizing. I agree with you - it looks that way,

The brown is a changeling. There is no shade like that listed in any of the 3 catalogs that list this set. (Commonwealth, Scott and Stanley Gibbons)
