Does This Cancel Date Mean 1880's?

The cancel date looks like 1880"s do that add any value? thanks

Not really as the stamp is too damaged to be worth anything - short and trimmed perfs and stains. Also, New York, NY cancels are really common.

Yes the cancel is from the 1880s.

Value of the cancel? For some collectors it would add, for some it would detract. It depends on one's collecting interests. Year-dated cancels have a following, but this one runs off the edge.

As Battlestamps notes, the condition is poor enough to make the value minimal.
