I started collecting stamps when I was a kid and have continued to accumulate used stamps for many years with Canada as my main interest. I have an old Minkus Canada album that goes to 1961 and wasn't aware until recently that supplements for the Minkus album are still being published.

I purchased a bulk update on ebay that covers the years 1967-99 which leaves a gap for the years 1962-66. I have scoured the internet looking for sources for the missing pages (old supplements, etc.) but to no avail. Does anyone know of any sources that might include the 1962-66 pages. Mostly, I am looking for the original Minkus layouts as I can re-build the pages using blank Minkus Canada pages that I have on hand.

Do a search on ebay.com for Minkus Canada.

There are some albums which have the pages you need.

You may have to buy an album as those earlier pages generally came with the Minkus binder and set of pages.

Looking for particular pages for an old album can consume years and you will still rarely find what you're looking for. I know because I've tried. And Minkus albums are a lot less common today than Scott and other albums, so you have even less chance of finding what you want.

If it's actual pages you want, your best bet is to go to albumpages[dot]net which can provide pages printed with the Steiner layout (if you know what that is) on Minkus-sized pages for just the years you want. They won't quite match. For one thing, the color will be whiter. The layouts won't have the Minkus layouts or the Minkus page borders since those are both copyrighted. But they layouts are nice, the stamps are labeled, and they do look good. When you purchase particular years, they often repeat some stamps from the pages you already own since the pages don't quite match year cut-offs but include a few stamps from a previous year or the next year. The pages will be Minkus size so they'll fit the album well. You can email and request a sample page to get a better idea. Check the website.

If the Steiner layouts don't appeal to you, you might be able to buy a used album on ebay that includes those pages and transfer the pages you want from it. I suppose I'd try that first for awhile before I went the Steiner page route. Good luck.

I have a Minkus album with the 1962 through 1964 pages (pages numbered 46 through 50) and can copy these pages on 110 pound pure white "Staples" card stock if that would help you.

BlackJag:
I would certainly appreciate getting the 1962-64 pages and would be happy to cover your costs. On the other hand, scans or even digital images of the pages would work as I can re-construct the pages using desktop publishing software. I built a template that seems to work perfectly.

I found all of the other pages as well.

My scanner has stopped working and as soon as I get it working again, I will scan all pages you need and email them to you via the site.

I reloaded my printer software (not the first time this has happened), but the scanner portion didn't work for some reason. Will reload again in the next couple of days.

No costs involved. Happy to do it.

wnorthland,
I am very glad you are getting help with your missing pages. Meanwhile, I am sure a good Nova Scotia Stamper has plenty to say about his stamp collection, interests and maybe show us some of yours. Greetings from New Brunswick !

Practically neighbours!

Now that I am retired I have a bit more time to spend on one of my favorite hobbies. I would like to say that I have an extensive collection, but in reality it is just average by any measure. My focus right now is to organize all the bits and pieces and bring my long time collection up to date, hence my interest in the Minkus supplements. I collect used stamps primarily as well as representative mint singles and blocks, precancels, perfins, etc. I plan to add additional pages to display the material that was not represented in the original album using a template I made for the Minkus pages. When this starts to come together, perhaps I will post a couple of samples. I think this will add significant variety and interest to the collection, and it helps that it won't be particularly hard on the pocketbook.

BlackJag or Paul: Hi, I bought that album in an auction and it is missing page 1-13... I was wondering if you could send me a scan of those pages?

That would be very helpful because those pages are part of the original binder and I can't find them anywhere...
