Nice resource.

For identifying stamps I've definitely found it useful to learn at least the Arabic numerals and calendar; early Afghanistan may need to be identified by the dates written on the stamp, for example, and sometimes surcharges or overprints are only in Arabic script. It's even more important for markings on covers, or if you get into fiscals/revenues, as many of those are exclusively inscribed in Arabic.
