So I was looking on the local auction site and this lot showed up.

A sc 2. used with a start bid of $100
But it doesn't look like any sc.2 I've ever seen.
Is it fake ?

Its always good to follow your gut instinct sometimes. If something looks "wrong" as you state, its good to find out if there really is something wrong. Sometimes you can't quantify which line is out of place but you know its not right.

In this case, of course, the whole thing is just "wrong".
Well done.

http://www.stampsmarter.com/1847usa...Reprint.html - but note that the original poster's stamp is not the 1875 reprint, it is a fake.

Cheers Don.
Nice treatment.
Interesting about the eyes, the original, George is looking straight at you.
Not so, the repo.
